The jail will accept current medications or prescription glasses. Inmates cannot receive property while they are incarcerated. Deputies will not release the property to you without positive identification. Their property can only be released to the person listed on the form. The inmate must fill out a property release form prior to the release of the property. Inmates can release their personal property to family and friends. All released inmates will be directed to meet their bonding party in the jail lobby. Releasing an inmate can take a considerable amount of time. When detention staff receives paperwork for a posted bond and/or an order for release from the court, staff will start processing the inmate for release. 19-2923 authorizes the court to take the cash bond posted by either the inmate or someone on their behalf, and apply that money towards fines and costs incurred as a result of the criminal case filed against the inmate. Once the case is resolved in court, the cash bond that you posted may be taken and applied as payment for all costs incurred and fines imposed. In the event the inmate fails to appear in court as ordered, your cash bond will be forfeited and an arrest warrant will be issued for the inmate. The cash bond is merely collateral (or a guarantee) that the inmate will appear in court on the date and time given to him/her by the releasing officer. If you choose to post a cash bond for an inmate, this does not resolve the charges or fines against them. The Detention staff does not keep change to break bonds or the Sheriff’s fee. This must be paid separate from the bond and must be exact change. If you choose to post a cash bond, you must have the entire amount of the bond in exact change.Ī $10 Sheriff’s Bond fee is attached to each bond. If you choose to contact a bond agent, they will discuss their requirements and fees with you personally. If you would like to post a bond for an inmate, you may either contact a bond agent or pay the bond in cash. Mail that violates any of the above rules will be returned to sender.
